Where's Waldo--I Mean, Bangarang?

Where Is Bangarang?

Our boat, Bangarang, now has a SPOT.

This is our handheld SPOT device.
A SPOT is a handheld device that sends our GPS location and data to orbiting commercial satellites. It tracks our GPS coordinates. Most importantly, in the case of an emergency, it will send a message to the GEOS Rescue Coordination Center and include our location, emergency contacts, and identifying information about our boat. Also, the SPOT service provides a web link so that our location can be viewed using Google Maps.

During the day, the SPOT is mounted on our starboard helm for the best satellite connection.
The SPOT sends out our coordinates periodically and we will update it when we move from place to place. Kent and I set up our web link so that our family and friends can see where we are, at any time you like. If you know someone who's interested in where we are, you can share the link with them. It's public, so you don't need a password.

When you go to our web link, it will look something like this,
with Bangarang's location indicated on the map. The map is
interactive and you can zoom in and out.
P.S. If you see us moving around in a small area, that's
because we are at anchor and we swing around a bit.

If the above link does not work for you, copy and paste the link in your browser and open the link in your browser.

And bookmark the link, or keep a copy of it, so you don't have to search for it here in our blog!
